Core Keeper

ALIGNED7-point gap — players scored higher
Critics

Reviews land on the same comparison set every time — Terraria, Stardew Valley, Minecraft — usually right after a sentence acknowledging Core Keeper doesn't reinvent any of them. The praise is for accessibility and the underground-only setting; the structure of the game does most of the work. Nobody calls it groundbreaking. A lot of people call it a great time.

Players

The early hours are where the love is. Player reviews are consistently positive for the first 20-something hours and then trail off. The complaints all rhyme: progression flattens, late-game items feel undifferentiated, you spend a lot of time running across the map looking for the next gate. People treating it as a chill base-builder fare much better than people treating it as a survival challenge.

The Verdict

Buy it for the first 20 hours and let the late game be a bonus. Critics didn't have time to hit the wall players hit. The seven-point gap is exactly that wall, quietly priced in.
